The regional tourist offices in the town centre of Castelnaudary and also at the Harbour Office at Quai du Port welcome you to the area. The town is considered the world capital for it’s famous “Cassoulet” (bean, duck and pork dish). Located on the Canal du Midi, the setting is beautiful with a large harbour of 6 hectares and the 4 locks of St Roch.
The Cassoulet Festival, the Caricature Festival and the Foire au Gras (duck festival) are amongst the most popular festivities in the region.
